STEP-4

WHAT NEXT?

If you prayed that prayer and put your trust in Jesus then you are a member of God’s family, a citizen of His Kingdom and an ambassador of the King.

What now?

CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY:

The most important thing you can do now is to find a Christian community that can help you grow in your relationship with God. If there is someone who has had an influence on you to explore the Christian faith, then why not start there. Find a church that teaches the Bible, encourages prayer and worship and will help you find community.

STUDY THE BIBLE:

Ideally find a mature Christian to help you study the Bible. Why not study the life of Jesus in one of the gospels, Mark may be a good one to start with.

Here is a link to a resource called One-2-One to help you examine the Bible and grow in your relationship with God who loves you and has a great plan for your life. This is something you could do with someone you know who is a mature follower of Jesus or you can do it on your own:

PRAY:

Prayer is talking to God. Cultivate the habit of talking to God. There are lots of good online resources if you are not yet part of a church. I’d recommend a course by a guy called Pete Greig on the Lord’s Prayer. You can look it up. It’s great.

PURPOSE:

As you grow in your relationship with God, seek His guidance for your purpose and calling. God has wonderful plans for your life for how you can join Him to help make a difference in this world.

If you don’t have someone to reach out to then here’s an option. We are part of a worldwide family of churches called Every Nation. Why not see if we have a church in your city and reach out to one of our leaders. They may be able to help you. If not, do contact us and we'll help you.

CONCLUSION:

Jesus said:

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.”

Matthew 13:44

The gospel is good news for us personally and for the world around us. It is so valuable it is worth giving up everything to gain. There is nothing in this world to compare to it.

Dallas Willard, captures the glorious magnitude of this powerful message.

The gospel that Jesus himself proclaimed, manifested, and taught was about MORE than his death for the forgiveness of our sins, as important as that is. It was about the kingdom of God—God’s immediate availability. There is so much more to our relationship with God than just his dealing with our guilt and sin. Once we have been forgiven, we are meant to live in the fullness of the life that Jesus came to give us.

Life Without Lack: Living in the Fullness of Psalm 23

With God’s enemy defeated, the gospel has the power to save you and can also save others through you.
